Pre-law

The decision to attend law school should not be made lightly.  Not only does law school require a great deal of hard work and determination, it is also expensive.  Next to medical school, law school is one of most demanding graduate degrees one can pursue.  However once completed, the payoff can be extremely rewarding.

The New York State Bar Association has developed Pathway to the Profession; an initiative which we hope will guide students through their education and into the early years of practice.

Although one can major in “pre-law” during their undergraduate studies, it is not required.  Law schools accept students from a wide range of backgrounds; medical, science, the arts, sports, education, and more.

Whatever your background and whatever your reasoning for attending law school might be, the New York State Bar Association will be with you every step of the way.
